Surgical Follow-Up Consultation
A surgical follow-up consultation allows the surgeon to assess the patient’s healing, review symptoms, monitor recovery, and address concerns after a procedure.
At New Padre Garcia Hospital, patients may return for wound evaluation, pain review, dressing assessment, suture or staple planning, medication review, and discussion of laboratory, imaging, or pathology results when applicable.
The surgeon may determine whether recovery is progressing as expected or whether the patient needs additional treatment, testing, activity restrictions, or another follow-up appointment.
Patients should attend the recommended follow-up even when they feel well unless their doctor provides different instructions.
